Places to Visit


There are an abundance of things to do in Carmel and destinations to explore:


  • Carmel Farmers Market: is one of the largest in the state of Indiana, offering agricultural products that are grown or produced in Indiana. Two major markets are held each Saturday morning from May to September and in the mid-week of October through March on Center Green at the Palladium which attracts over 100,000 guests. 


  • Carmel Arts & Design District: If you are into arts and design and looking for a fun atmosphere, you should visit this district. Located in Old Town Carmel, it includes the Carmel Clay Public Library, the Hamilton County Convention & Visitors Bureau, and a collection of art galleries, locally owned shops, cafes, and restaurants.


  • Coxhall Gardens: Perfect for nature lovers, this fascinating park includes a Centerpiece, twin 90-feet bell towers, a recreation lake, and Children's Garden. The park is ideal for different activities as they also feature a bike trail, fishing,  greenspace, music pavilion and playground.

  • Monon Trail: An iconic recreational trail which begins in Carmel and travels through Westfield and Grand Park to Sheridan, offering a scenic route for walking, jogging, and biking, connecting various neighborhoods and parks and links to many of the city’s local attractions including Midtown Plaza.


  • Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation maintains 22 parks and greenways - over 700 acres throughout Carmel including the Monon Community Center which is located in the heart of Carmel’s Central Park.  It features a seasonal water park, fitness center, indoor lap pool, KidZone, group fitness classes, skatepark and more. 


Shopping


  • Clay Terrace: can be easily visited by Carmel residents, as well as surrounding areas of Fishers, Indianapolis, Noblesville and Westfield.  An outdoor shopping center featuring  stores & restaurants, plus a dog park & kids’ play area.

    • Carmel City Center: offers a number of independently owned shops which will give you options for your different shopping needs, boutiques for women and men's apparel, intimate apparel, home gift/décor items and more
  • Village Park Plaza: A strip-style outdoor shopping center with chain restaurants & big-box stores, plus a movie theater.

 

Great restaurants to Dine - Carmel has so many….here are a few


  • The Cake Bake Shop: Satisfy your sweet tooth with desserts and treats, choices of soups, salads, sandwiches all enjoying the whimsical and enchanting  French- inspired atmosphere.

  • Bub’s Burgers and Ice Cream:  Along the Monon Trail eat indoor or at patio seating.  Enjoy the amazing burgers, house made buns, waffle fries along with milkshakes for a great dinner!

  • Cafe Patachou, is an upscale cafe for breakfast or lunch - both menus served all day.  Local to the Indy area, the unique menu makes it a fan favorite.

  • Juniper on Main uniquely serves up southern hospitality and Low Country and Gullah Geechee cuisine for their guests indoors and on the 

patio. 


  • Dooley O'Toole's - serving lunch and dinner to Carmel diners since 1985, this restaurant and bar has a fan favorite - breaded tenderloin.  Menu is diverse and satisfies whatever you are in the mood for with friendly staff.

  • Bazbeaux Pizza is a locally owned specialty pizza restaurant that is a favorite, ranked #4 on TripAdvisor for Carmel restaurants.
