In this blog, we'll explore some of the remarkable attractions that make living in Indianapolis a great place to call home.  From the amazing performances of the Indianapolis Symphony to the scenic pathway of the Canal Walk and the fun paddle boats and gondola rides, as well as the wonders of the Indianapolis Zoo, Back 9 Golf and Entertainment, and the White River State Park and Amphitheater, this city offers a variety of experiences for all to enjoy.


  • The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO)

The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO), founded in 1930, is a professional orchestra performing at their primary venue, the Hilbert Circle Theatre in downtown Indianapolis.  They perform many classical concertos and have special guests join their performances.  In addition to many evening performances, they host some lunchtime concerts throughout the year too.  An annual favorite in the community is their Yuletide Celebration Christmas show. They  also conduct outdoor themed music concerts called Symphony on the Prairie at the Conner Prairie Amphitheatre in Fishers during the summer which this year include a concerts of music from Harry Potter, Star-Spangled Banner, Abba, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Fleetwood Mac tribute, Broadway Under the Stars, etc . The ISO has been nominated for several Grammy Awards, including Best Orchestral Performance and Best Classical Album. 


  • Canal Walk

The Canal Walk is a scenic pathway spanning approximately three miles along the Central Canal in downtown Indianapolis, offering a picturesque route for walking, jogging, or cycling. The Canal Walk starts just off the White River Pedestrian bridge and features notable landmarks like the NCAA Hall of Champions Museum, the Indiana State Museum, the Indiana Historical Society, and the USS Indianapolis Memorial.  The Canal Walk provides activities such as pedal boating, gondola rides and biking. It hosts various events including concerts, art celebrations, and the Water Lantern Festival. There are a few restaurants along the pathway to enjoy a meal or greenspace to have a picnic.  The Colts Canal Playspace is a must stop if you have kids!



  • Indianapolis Zoo

Just across the White River downtown, prepare to be awe-struck first by the wonders of the White River Gardens, where you'll encounter a fascinating array of animal species.  Then as you move onto the Zoo you enter the Waters building which is a cool experience for the whole family and is home to a wide range of exhibits that showcase a diverse collection of species. As you venture further on at the Zoo, some family favorite animals to visit are the elephants, zebras, giraffes, lions, tigers, cheetahs and kangaroos, dolphins, sea lions, penguins, and orangutans.  Animal feedings, encounters, and presentations, where visitors can learn about animal behavior, biology, and conservation happen throughout the day.  There is also  and the Zoo's most popular events are Animals and all that Jazz, ZooBoo, Zoobilation and Christmas at the Zoo.   • Back 9 Golf and Entertainment

Back 9 Golf and Entertainment  is the perfect destination to sharpen your golf skills with state-of-the-art simulators or enjoy with friends at the sports bar.  The facility also offers practice areas where players can work on their swings and improve their skills. It is an ideal venue for group outings, corporate events, or simply a fun night out with friends.



  • White River State Park and Amphitheater

White River State Park is a beautiful urban park located in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana overlooking the White River and next to the NCAA Hall of Champions Museum and across from Victory Field,  the Amphitheater holds outdoor events and concerts throughout the year.
